TIME ALWAYS GETS THE FINAL WORD
Everything we build is an argument against time — and time always gets the final word.
We build houses, businesses, careers, relationships, institutions and empires. We create music, write books, take photographs and leave our names on things, hoping that something will remain after we are gone.
But time is patient.
A building eventually needs repairs. A business changes hands. A song becomes an old song. A photograph fades into history. Even the greatest empires & the strongest institutions eventually transform or disappear.
This does not mean that building is pointless.
Quite the opposite.
Perhaps the value of creation was never in making something permanent. Perhaps it is in making something meaningful while it exists.
We cannot defeat time. We can only decide what we do with the portion of it given to us.
Every generation inherits something from the previous one, changes it, and eventually passes it on. We are all temporary custodians of things we often mistake for permanent possessions.
That is the uncomfortable truth about existence:
We don't own time. We only spend it.
And unlike money, we cannot earn it back.
So build. Create. Love. Write. Sing. Start the business. Make the record. Raise the children. Plant the tree.
Not because any of it will last forever.
But because for a brief moment, it was here — and you were here to make it happen.
Time may always get the final word.
But while we are alive, we still get to write our sentence.
Spend your time wisely. ....let love lead.
